Taller a Punto replaces the notebooks, spreadsheets and WhatsApp threads a workshop runs on. It records what came in and in what condition, builds quotes job by job with labour and parts, draws down stock on its own, tracks what has been paid, and at month end says what the shop actually earned. It fits general mechanics, heavy mechanics, body and paint, a specialist workshop or a machining shop alike: the system does not know what an engine is, it knows something came in, that there is work to do on it, and that in the end it has to be handed back and paid for.
The problem
A workshop handles other people's valuable property and multi-line quotes, and does it on paper. There is no way to settle an argument over what was dropped off, a quote takes an hour, the parts room is only known by looking at it, and the month's profit is a hunch. The systems on offer are monthly, cloud-based and built for a different scale.
The solution
A desktop system that runs on the computer the shop already owns. Node.js with Node's own built-in SQLite: zero external dependencies, so there is no package tree to update or to break on its own. It opens from an icon, works with the network cable unplugged, and leaves a backup every day, with an optional second copy to a USB drive. If the shop grows, network mode is switched on and the other machines join, each with its own user and permissions.
The outcome
Everything that comes in gets a duplicate receipt, signed and dated. Recurring jobs are reused with one click. Parts price rises are applied in bulk, by category or supplier. Payments and the outstanding balance are recorded on each quote. And the month-end split separates labour from parts, which is the only way to know where the money is made. It ships installed, with training at the shop.
