Taller a Punto replaces the notebooks, spreadsheets and scattered messages a workshop runs on. It records what came in, in what condition and with what, on a receipt signed in duplicate; builds quotes job by job with labour and parts; draws down stock on its own; logs payments and balances; invoices from the quote itself; and at month end says what the shop actually made. Every morning the dashboard gathers who needs a message — the finished part nobody was told about, the promised date that passed, the unanswered quote, the outstanding balance — and the WhatsApp message comes already written. It fits general mechanics, body and paint, a specialist workshop or a machining shop alike: the system doesn't know what an engine is, it knows something came in, that there's work to do on it, and that in the end it has to be handed back and paid for.
The problem
A workshop handles other people's valuable property and multi-line quotes, and does it on paper. There's no way to settle an argument over what was dropped off, a quote takes an hour, the parts room is only known by looking at it, customers get told when someone remembers, and the month's profit is a hunch. The systems on offer are monthly, cloud-based and built for a different scale.
The solution
A system that installs on the computer the shop already owns and works offline. Node.js with Node's own built-in SQLite: zero external dependencies, so there's no package tree to update or to break on its own. It keeps one copy a day on the PC and another outside it, on a USB stick or drive, and exports everything to Excel. It sends nothing on its own: WhatsApp messages go out from the shop's number when the owner presses “Send”, and updates install when the owner looks for them. Type C invoices are requested from ARCA straight from the quote, with the certificate key kept on the PC. If the shop grows, network mode is switched on and the other machines join, each with its own user and permissions.
The outcome
Everything that comes in is signed for and dated, customers find out when their part is ready without anyone having to remember, and at month end labour and parts show up separately, which is the only way to know where the money is made. It's tried for 14 days on the shop's real work and, if it fits, the licence goes on top of what's already been entered.
